'Conquered the city again' - Moussa Dembele posts Twitter message after Celtic win v Rangers

By Harvey Byrne

Striker Moussa Dembele has shared that Celtic have “conquered the city again” following the Hoops’ 2-0 win over rivals Rangers on Sunday.

The two Glasgow giants met at Hampden Park earlier in the day for a Scottish Cup semi-final tie.

It marked the fifth time that two of the world’s fiercest rivals have met each other this season and the fourth time that Celtic have emerged victors from the Old Firm derby.

Summer signing Dembele alluded to these fact on his personal Twitter account on Sunday evening by claiming that the Hoops had claimed the city once more alongside Glasgow being green and white.

Dembele was limited to just 34 minutes out on the pitch on Sunday afternoon after suffering an injury.

However, he would did assist Callum McGregor’s first goal of the afternoon before Scott Sinclair struck a penalty in the second half.

It is not yet known how severe the Frenchman’s injury is, but fans will certainly be hoping their 32-goal striker makes his comeback before season’s end.

Celtic will also be meeting Rangers once again next Saturday at Ibrox and Dembele will be keen to add to his five goals scored against Gers in his debut season in Scotland.

In other Celtic news, Leigh Griffiths has goaded the Rangers fan base after the Hoops’ Sunday victory.
