Celtic return to pre-season training on Monday, and Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers will be delighted that so far the Hoops have managed to keep hold of all of their star players this summer.
The only departures from the Bhoys have been squad players, whilst the biggest signing has been the permanent deal to capture Odsonne Edouard.
Rodgers and the Hoops don’t have much time to get into their groove before pre-season is over and the Hoops return to the lottery of the Champions League qualifiers.
The fact that the Bhoys have managed to keep hold of the team which qualified for the Champions League last season is a huge bonus for Rodgers, as the players haven’t let him down in the qualifiers in the previous two seasons.
Even if a player or two does leave in the next month, the fact that the core of players that has dominated Scottish football in the last two years is still intact is a boon for Rodgers.
It is inevitable that the Hoops team will break-up over the next few years, the likes of Scott Brown and Mikael Lustig can’t go on forever.
But for now the continuity of the current side will be key to the Hoops making the money-spinning group stages for the third year and a row, and to winning the league for the eighth season in a row.
