Levein shares big transfer update that Rangers fans will want to hear
By Abigail Withey
Hearts manager Craig Levein has admitted that summer-long Rangers target Jamie Walker could leave by Thursday night.
The 24-year-old has been linked with Pedro Caixnha’s club throughout the transfer window as the Light Blues have had a number of bids rejected for not meeting their seven-figure valuation.
Hearts want at least £1 million for the playmaker, which could be to fund some of the Midlothian club’s last minute signings as Hevein says he wants to bring in some more players.
“I think we’re a little bit light so I would like to get one or two in if I can,” Levein said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
“There’s one or two we maybe need to move out as well.

“I don’t know where the Jamie Walker situation is going to go, he trained today and will train on Wednesday then he is off on Thursday.
“Have there been any fresh bids? No. As of now Rangers have not made any other offers for Jamie.”
This news follows a recent report in the Glasgow Evening Times which revealed that the Glaswegian club would only submit a new bid for Walker if his club lowered the price tag to a six-figure sum.
Rangers fans will be excited at the prospect of their club still landing Walker before the Thursday night cut-off.

The fact that the 24-year-old also turned down a huge three-year-deal with Hearts which would have made him the highest earning player at the Midlothian club suggests that he no longer wants to stay at the club despite turning up to training. He would be a bonus to the flank at Rangers but he isn’t a necessity at the Ibrox side as they have shown that their new signings are performing well enough to get the club back on track. Rangers would be wise to hold off until January and make their next swoop in the new year as Hearts will be more likely to sell for less as otherwise they risk losing him for free in the summer months.
In other Rangers news, one of Caixinha’s new summer signings has been named in the SPFL’s Team of the Week.
