Celtic fans on social media are stunned that Brendan Rodgers decided to keep Charly Musonda on the bench for the entirety of the Bhoys’ goalless draw with Dundee.
With the Hoops failing to create any real chances against the Dens Park side, the game seemed ideal for the 21-year-old, but Hoops boss Rodgers decided otherwise and the player stayed on the sidelines.
Fans wren’t happy about this, as the Hoops let two points drift away after a poor showing, which in their eyes Musonda could have improved.
Here are some of the best reactions to Musonda’s lack of game time from Twitter:
The game was screaming out for Roberts and/or Musonda. The three subs sadly didn't make a hell of a lot of difference last night. That said, onwards to the title 🍀😊🍀 https://t.co/uR46phMK8X

Cellic were rotten last night man, grim, triple sub baffling, why leave Roberts & Musonda on the bench when we’re lacking creativity 😫

If only we had players that could do that, like Patrick Roberts or Charly Musonda 🤔……… Ohh wait a second 😐

If only we had some creative players to open up tight defences, like Paddy Roberts and Charly Musonda….oh wait 🤔

Too many uninspiring performances at home this season. Good to see the squad coming back to full strength but I am desperate to watch the creativity of Roberts and Musonda. Boring, lacklustre games like last night are crying out for players like them!

Musonda was signed for the Hoops with plenty of hype, with the Hoops boss claiming, as reported by the Herald, claiming that Real Madrid were interested in signing the player.
Aside from a great cameo to set up Callum McGregor’s winning goal in the Europa League against Zenit, the player has rarely featured, particularly in recent weeks.
The one thing Musonda does have in his favour is time, as his loan deal is an 18 month one, and he will still be a player with the Hoops next season.
But that doesn’t take away from the fact that in a game which seemed tailor-made for his talents, Rodgers elected to keep Musonda on the bench.
