'Should never play again' - Celtic fans slaughter player for display v Dundee
Celtic fans on social media have slaughtered Hoops defender Dedryck Boyata after the centre-back tuned in another poor display for the Bhoys, this time in the goalless draw against Dundee on Wednesday night.
Despite being taken off at half-time in the weekend win over Ross County, Brendan Rodgers decided to keep faith in the 27-year-old and paired him at the back with Jack Hendry.
The move backfired though, as both players looked less than convincing throughout the 90 minutes.
One Hoops fan on social media was so incensed with Boyata performance that he hoped the Belgian “should never play again” for the Bhoys.
Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter to Boyata’s display:
just in from the game boyata is a shambles should never play again

Just feel Lustig and Boyata have had too many chances now… understand giving Ajer a rest but this is the run in now, best team should be playing every game. 3 subs at once with none of them being the right change was just weird.

They are unprepared to mix it up. He has a definite blind spot with Boyata.

Wouldn’t argue if we moved on Lustig, jozo, Boyata, DdV, Armstrong, Rogic, Sinclair and Dembele. Needs massively freshened up.

Rodgers said Boyata played well tonight? What game was he watching. He shouldnt be near the starting 11

Despite the complains from the fans, it seems certain that Boyata will be involved for the Hoops for much of the rest of the season, as the Bhoys aim to complete a second successive domestic treble.

Perhaps he will turn in better displays when he is once again partnered with Kristoffer Ajer, who was unexpectedly rested for the game against Dundee.
The pair had formed a solid looking partnership until both players were injured in the loss to Kilmarnock in February.
That pairing could be what the Bhoys need to get them through the rest of the reason, but only if Boyata is able to up his game after a series of poor performances since returning from injury.
