Crystal Palace fans are all saying the same thing about Evann Guessand after what he did vs Brighton

Crystal Palace fans are in high spirits following a 1-0 victory over rivals Brighton in the Premier League.

Ismaila Sarr’s second half goal proved the difference for Oliver Glasner’s side to record their first Premier League win in nine games.

Crystal Palace move above Brighton in the Premier League table, and increase the gap between themselves and the bottom three to nine points.

Glasner, who is leaving Crystal Palace at the end of the season, will hope they can build on the win to enjoy a positive second half of the campaign.

Evann Guessand enjoys Crystal Palace debut to remember

Crystal Palace signed Evann Guessand on loan from Aston Villa for the remainder of the season in the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old came on early in the second half for Yeremy Pino to make his first appearance for the club, and he instantly had an immediate impact on the game.

Guessand provided the assist for Sarr’s goal, and Crystal Palace fans have already demanded the club make his loan spell permanent in the summer transfer window.

The Eagles do have an option to make the move permanent for £28million, with the forward only having joined Aston Villa from Nice for £30m last summer.

Guessand had only scored two goals in 21 appearances in his debut season at Villa Park, and Unai Emery felt the need to sign Tammy Abraham in January to bolster his strike force.

Jean-Philippe Mateta not involved in Brighton win

Striker Jean-Philippe Mateta was once again not included in the Crystal Palace squad, with the 28-year-old having also missed the 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest.

Mateta may never play for Crystal Palace again after failing to move to AC Milan in the January transfer window.

The Frenchman faces problems with his knee, which could require surgery and could force him to miss this summer’s World Cup.

Glasner therefore gave new signing Jorgen Strand Larsen his debut at Brighton, with the 26-year-old having joined from Wolves.

Strand Larsen had three shots on goal, and the most touches in the opposition box of any Crystal Palace player, but he could not find a goal on his debut.
