Curtis Jones posts new Liverpool message, Cody Gakpo and Jordan Henderson wowed
Curtis Jones is one of seven academy players set to collect a medal after Liverpool confirmed that the Premier League trophy will return to Anfield.
Arne Slot‘s side secured their 20th top-flight title with a 5-1 victory over Tottenham on Sunday, with the Anfield crowd treated to an exhibition of the world-class football they’ve come to expect this season.
Spurs took an early lead through Dominic Solanke’s header, but any chance of a surprise result was soon quashed as Luis Diaz equalised four minutes later before Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo’s strikes.
Mohamed Salah netted his 28th Premier League goal of the season – and 33rd in all competitions – just after the hour mark, and Destiny Udogie’s own goal rounded things off for a dominant Liverpool side.

Curtis Jones sends Liverpool message after title success
Jones’ six appearances across the 2019–20 season were just enough to earn his first Premier League medal, and five years later he’s been a key member of Slot’s side as he prepares to collect a second.
While only Jones, Neco Williams and the exit-linked Trent Alexander-Arnold were members of Jurgen Klopp’s title winners five years ago, Liverpool’s 2025 side includes seven Kirkby academy products.
Alexander-Arnold, Jones, Caoimhin Kelleher, Jayden Danns, Conor Bradley, Tyler Morton and Vitezslav Jaros are all set for medals, and Jones posted on Instagram (28 April) after the title was confirmed.
In a post liked by Cody Gakpo and 2020 captain Jordan Henderson, who also left love-heart emoji reactions, Jones said: “There’s no place like home”.
Curtis Jones ready to take next steps at Liverpool
Although Liverpool look set to lose one of their academy products this summer in the form of Alexander-Arnold’s seemingly imminent move to Real Madrid, that will only see Jones put further into the limelight.
That limelight could come as a potential replacement to Alexander-Arnold at right-back, but after Reds fans slammed Jones’ performance against Fulham, he’ll be hopeful of a permanent position in midfield.
Liverpool are one of several sides seen as front-runners to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad this summer, but if the Spaniard avoids a move to Anfield as he did 12 months ago, Slot knows full well that he’ll still have Jones to call upon.
