‘Dan Ndoye makes Nottingham Forest transfer decision amid rival interest’
Nottingham Forest have set their sights on a move for Bologna winger Dan Ndoye as Nuno Espirito Santo looks to ready his side for a European campaign.
Acquiring a new wideman is a priority for the City Ground outfit after Anthony Elanga joined Newcastle United.
The former Manchester United man was a key man for Espirito Santo’s side last term, notching six goals and 11 assists in 38 Premier League appearances.
Meanwhile, football finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider that Tottenham are confident of signing Morgan Gibbs-White despite Forest’s protestations.

Ndoye favours Premier League move over Napoli switch
Nottingham Forest are not alone in their admiration of Ndoye, who has also attracted interest from Serie A champions Napoli.
Like Espirito Santo’s men, Napoli need reinforcements on the wing after selling Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Champions League winners PSG in January.
Meanwhile, The Guardian reported on Monday, 21 July: “Ndoye, who scored eight goals in 30 Serie A games last season, has interest from Napoli but is keen on testing himself in the Premier League”, which hands Nottingham Forest a clear advantage over Antonio Conte’s side.

Ndoye would be an ideal signing for Nottingham Forest
Football Insider verdict
After Crystal Palace were demoted to the Conference League, Nottingham Forest could compete in the Europa League, giving Espirito Santo extra incentive to oversee a successful summer of recruitment.
Dan Ndoye stats | All competitions 2024/25 |
Appearances | 41 |
Goals | 9 |
Assists | 6 |
Meanwhile, Ndoye presents himself as an ideal replacement for Elanga after scoring nine goals and producing six assists across all competitions last term.
The Switzerland international also made eight Champions League appearances in 2024/25, which is experience that should ready him for the challenge of the Premier League.
His Serie A performances suggest that he is capable of producing a similar return to that of Elanga, and can help Forest balance their Europa League duties with their usual top-flight exploits.
Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest are keen on James McAtee, who could prove himself as an ideal replacement for Morgan Gibbs-White, despite enduring a lack of game time with Manchester City.
Losing both Elanga and Gibbs-White will hurt the East Midlands club, but acquiring Ndoye and McAtee can certainly soften that blow.
