‘Daniel Farke lost to Millwall on purpose’ – Leeds fans explode as sack mooted

Leeds United fans have vented their frustration at Daniel Farke following the team’s 2-0 FA Cup defeat to Millwall.

Leeds were knocked out of FA Cup by Millwall on 8 February with both goals scored by Femi Azeez and Pascal Struijk missing a penalty.

Farke made ten changes to the starting lineup, with players like Mateo Joseph, Josuha Guilavogui, and Samuel Chambers all handed starts.

Despite leading the Championship, Farke has faced pressure from Leeds fans earlier this season, and the FA Cup loss has only intensified their frustration. Some have claimed that Farke could be sacked if Leeds fail to secure promotion, adding to the pressure for him to turn things around in the next match.

Leeds face pressure to secure Premier League promotion

The Whites are currently four points clear of second-placed Sheffield United and five points ahead of the play-off positions. With 62 goals scored, they lead the Championship as the top-scoring team.

However, the pressure of securing promotion has weighed heavily on the team, and fans have been critical at times. After the top-of-the-table clash against Burnley on 27 January, Leeds supporters heavily criticised Brenden Aaronson and other players for their performances.

Despite their strong position at the top, anxiety remains among fans, knowing there is still a long way to go before the season concludes.

Millwall defeat leaves Leeds fans questioning Daniel Farke

The defeat to Millwall has raised concerns among fans, with many fearing it could derail their season. While the team has been in strong positions before, they’ve failed to secure promotion in the past.

After last season’s playoff final loss to Southampton, sections of the Elland Road fanbase remain unconvinced that Farke is the right man for the job.

One fan demanded that “Farke should refund the fans” for “not taking the game seriously” after making ten changes to the starting lineup. Another supporter said the defeat “will be the start of our downfall” citing the manager’s decision to field the side he did as a mistake, with one claiming he lost “intentionally”.
