Daniel Gabbidon has hailed the performance of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain during Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Middlesbrough on Monday.
The former Premier League defender took to his personal Twitter account following the game to deliver a glowing verdict of the 23-year-old midfielder’s display.
He said: “When the Ox pushes that turbo button he’s a serious problem. So much potential still in that boy.”

The midfielder has received widespread criticism in recent seasons for failing to live up to his potential, as well as struggling to establish consistency into his game.
But Gabbidon insists there is still much more left to unlock, and admitted he can cause serious problems if he ‘pushes that turbo button’ and goes up the gears.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been deployed in a number of different roles for Arsenal this season, including as a winger and as a central midfielder.
However, Arsene Wenger tapped even further into his versatility by experimenting with the England international in a right-wing back role.
But the surprise tactical decision proved to be somewhat of a masterstroke from the much-maligned Arsenal chief, as Oxlade-Chamberlain thrived.
He trudged off at the final whistle physically drained, having put in a terrific shift on the right-flank, serving well in his defensive duties, whilst also providing an influence in the final third.
The win, Arsenal’s first away from home since January, kept their faint hopes alive of finishing in the Premier League’s top four.
They are now seven points adrift of Manchester City with two games in hand.
