Danilo ‘out for the season’ – Nottingham Forest fans in despair
Nottingham Forest and rival fans come together to support Brazilian midfielder Danilo after a potentially season-ending injury in their Premier League opener against Bournemouth.
Danilo, 23, was stretchered off of the Forest Ground pitch in the 15th minute after suffering what appeared to be a broken leg.
The midfielder simply jumped up for the ball under little pressure from Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo and landed at an angle resulting in the disastrous injury.
Chris Woods opened the scoring in the 23rd minute after Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto could only palm Ryan Yates’ volley directly into the path of the New Zealand international.
The home side looked set to secure the three points but Semenyo’s 86th-minute equaliser canceled out Woods’ close-range effort and the game ended 1-1.
Danilo set for some time on the Nottingham Forest sidelines
Danilo joined the club from Brazillian side Palmires back in January 2022 and has since gone on to make 50 appearances and score six goals for Forest.
The young Brazillian is highly regarded amongst Forest fans and they have flocked to social media to wish him a speedy recovery.
