Danny Rohl must implement long-term tactical switch after Rangers’ second-half goal blitz vs Falkirk

Danny Rohl must look to start both Youssef Chermiti and Bojan Miovski in Rangers’ lineup after their heroics against Falkirk on Sunday.

The two strikers both scored twice at the Falkirk Stadium to win 6-3 and keep their Scottish Premiership title hopes alive.

Miovski was particularly impressive, with the North Macedonian international coming off the bench to net his brace.

It was a brilliant second-half display, as Rohl ensured that the visitors came from behind at the break to win the match comfortably.

Now, after an excellent Rangers victory, the manager should look to use this tactic going forward and blow away the club’s opposition.

Rangers were ruthless in the second-half against Falkirk

After a woeful first-half display from Rangers, it looked like the club was in serious trouble of falling out of the title race.

However, Rohl’s decision to bring on Miovski to partner with Chermiti up top completely changed the game, and the Gers used their attacking quality to their advantage.

In the second half, Rangers produced a 2.46 xG, had eight shots and created four big chances. This is compared to a 1.26 xG, 12 shots and three big chances in the first half.

On top of this, Rohl was far happier to allow Falkirk to have the ball, which allowed the Gers to pick their moments to attack.

With Rangers’ backline proving to be unreliable for months, rarely keeping clean sheets, they should look to put more emphasis on their attack and simply outscore their opponents.

Therefore, switching to a Chermiti and Miovski partnership in the starting XI long-term would surely win the Old Firm club the Scottish Premiership title.

Can Rangers keep hold of Chermiti next season?

Football Insider has recently revealed that Rangers will only sell Chermiti if they can earn a big profit in the summer.

The 21-year-old star has attracted interest from PSV Eindhoven of late ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Rangers shelled out an initial £8million to sign Chermiti from Everton last summer, and he has now begun to hit form after a difficult start at Ibrox.

However, it remains to be seen if the Gers would be prepared to sell Chermiti so early into his career at Glasgow.
