‘Strange game for me’ – Tottenham star slams his own performance after 6-1 win v Rochdale

Danny Rose was disappointed with his own performance in the 6-1 thrashing of Rochdale on Wednesday night.

Tottenham suffered another scare from a lower league side as Rochdale became the second side to take them to a replace after Newport in the round before.

And they threatened another giant-killing act when they equalised to leave the score 1-1 at half-time.

However, whatever manager Mauricio Pochettino said to his side at the break obviously worked as Spurs came out firing in the second half.

A hat-trick from Fernando Llorente has given him future hope in a Tottenham shirt and goals from Heung-Min Son and Kyle Walker-Peters condemned Rochdale to a tough defeat, but Rose wasn’t happy in himself.

Talking in an interview in Ham & High, the 27-year-old left-back admitted he was disappointed in himself.

“It was a strange game for me. I couldn’t really get into the game. It was frustrating and the conditions didn’t help.

“I feel ok. It’s been a nice test for me up against Rochdale in these last two games because they’re a good footballing team.

“I hope I can be part of an exciting cup run for Tottenham, and the more wins I get the happier I’ll be.”

The player has struggled to re-establish himself in the first team this season, with Ben Davies taking over his role as the club’s number one left-back.
