Dave King makes huge transfer decision, Rangers will cash in on star after £7m bid - report

Rangers chairman Dave King has decided to reject a huge bid worth almost £7million from a Chinese Super League club for centre-forward Alfredo Morelos, according to a report.
The Daily Record claims that King has stepped in to block the Far East club from nabbing Graeme Murty’s star striker before Wednesday night’s transfer deadline, which would leave him with just Jason Cummings until the end of the campaign.
It is understood that the offer made was worth £5.8million up front with the rest made up in add-ons.
Morelos, 21, only signed for Rangers in the summer for a fee of £1million from HJK Helsinki but has wasted no time in hitting the ground running in Scotland with 13 goals in 27 appearances across all competitions.
However the report adds that the Light Blues “will cash in” on the Colombian forward when the time is right, and that is likely to be at the end of the season.
Football Insider verdict
Morelos does not look like he will be a Rangers player for much longer. It will be very interesting to see how he reacts to this because that would no doubt have been a big money move where he could have been handed a massive payrise if he left Glasgow for China. The Colombian forward is doing very well at Ibrox, but this interest could see his head turned. After bids were rejected for Josh Windass, his form has taken a dip, so it would not be a surprise to see if the same happens with Morelos. Hopefully, the ex-HJK striker will get his head down and try to earn a big money switch and that would also be of benefit to the Gers.
In other Rangers news, King is due to hold talks on Tuesday as this in-form duo is eyed up for a last-gasp exit from Ibrox.
