David Beckham bids farewell to White Hart Lane with heartfelt Instagram message

Football icon David Beckham posted a heartfelt message on his Instagram account on Sunday following the final game at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham are currently planning to move into a new 61,000-seater stadium which is still under construction right next to where White Hart Lane stands.
This has meant that Spurs will have to play the next campaign at England’s iconic Wembley Stadium with White Hart Lane currently set to be demolished for the new build.
This led to Tottenham playing out a 2-1 victory over Manchester United in their final match at the famous ground on Sunday with goals coming from Victor Wanyama and Harry Kane alongside a Wayne Rooney consolation.
Many footballing greats came out to offer their memories of White Hart Lane on social media and in interviews, but many weren’t quite as touching as Beckham’s after the former England international celebrated his late grandad’s life in the prestigious ground.

The ex-Real Madrid star wrote a long message on his personal Instagram account, explaining his guilt after scoring against Tottenham due to his grandad, while also stating White Hart Lane will always be a part of his family.
Tottenham completed their final ever season at White Hart Lane unbeaten and they will now be hoping for similar success at Wembley next season.
The next step for the club will be to claim the Premier League title and Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to oversee a successful summer with the north London side.
