David Moyes has just sent clear transfer message to The Friedkin Group as Everton issues compounded

The Friedkin Group has absolutely nowhere to hide ahead of the January transfer window after a clear message from the Everton manager.

David Moyes is lacking options on the pitch, something which has seen the Toffees slip down the Premier League table despite such a sensational start to the 2025-26 campaign.

While many supporters remained level-headed, there was talk about a possible European charge this term, but those voices have disappeared at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with the Toffees in 12th.

The owners instantly saw fans fall in love after Jack Grealish signed for Everton on loan from Man City, but even with his excitement on the left flank, the goals have dried up for the Merseysiders.

David Moyes faces more crushing injury blows at Everton

Everton had scored in none of their previous three games before facing Nottingham Forest on Tuesday, 30 December, and that is a hugely troubling issue that needs to be addressed.

Lining up against Forest, Everton remained without Jarrad Branthwaite and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, with two big players also away on international duty, and Moyes is clearly losing patience.

There was also no Michael Keane and Carlos Alcaraz, which were major blows, meaning that the bench contained four academy stars. The manager had no other choice but to speak out before the game.

Asked about Grealish’s involvement on the bench, Moyes reluctantly admitted: “Honestly, we don’t have an awful lot [of options] to make changes. Jack is on the bench, but he shouldn’t be; he is still ill.

“We may have to use him, but if I had it my way, he wouldn’t be on the bench at all.”

The Friedkin Group must invest heavily at the Hill Dickinson Stadium

Football Insider already understand that Everton want to sign Jayden Bogle, with the full-back spot often a problem for the club, and the team’s lack of depth is on show for everyone to see.

Despite the signing of Thierno Barry, there is still a huge lack of goals, especially with Iliman Ndiaye at AFCON, and that must be addressed in the second half of the campaign.

While fans love to see academy products given a chance to shine on the Premier League stage, including them because of a lack of first-team options is not an ideal situation.

The Friedkin Group can certainly help the Toffees to regain their form by acting in the January transfer window, but it remains to be seen how much they’re going to hand over to the manager to use.
