David Moyes issues ‘outrageous’ Everton transfer claim with Friedkin backing
David Moyes has claimed that it will be a busy summer for Everton in the transfer window, with the club eager to overhaul the squad.
The Toffees look set for a mid-table finish in the Premier League, after staving off any threat of relegation with a nine-game unbeaten run earlier in the campaign.
The Merseyside club sit 13th in the table, 20 points clear of already-relegated Ipswich, who occupy the final space in the bottom three.
Everton have a number of players out of contract at the end of this season, which could mean that there is room for an influx of new blood.
It will be the first summer window with the Friedkin Group at the helm, after they took over the club back in December.

Moyes will be backed
When Sean Dyche was sacked by Everton in January, the Toffees were 16th in the Premier League and just one point above the relegation zone.
However, Moyes has come in and turned it around for the Merseyside club and looks set to be rewarded for his efforts with some new signings.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (14 May), Moyes said: “I expect us to be well supported in the transfer market, I don’t think it will be outrageous but I think we’ll be able to do a bit of business.
“The new owners have come in and we’re trying to find our way with them. They’re American and we are just trying to catch up with things.
“There is a lot of things we are trying to put in place. I’ve got a good idea of what the club needs and what the people want.”

Who will Everton bring in?
Everton need to decide which of the current crop of players they are keeping at the club, before they can start even thinking about who they need to bring in.
Despite the job Moyes has done in pulling the Toffees away from the drop zone, his current squad still has some major deficiencies.
Team | Premier League goals |
Everton | 39 |
Ipswich | 35 |
Leicester | 31 |
Southampton | 25 |
The Merseyside-based club have only scored 39 goals all season, the lowest in the league barring the three already relegated sides, so the attacking positions must be improved.
Football Insider exclusively revealed last week (6 May) that Everton were holding talks with Liam Delap, but it would take a lot to convince the Ipswich forward to join the Toffees.
Moyes will be excited at the prospect of having financial backing behind him, but will be wary that the club has made some less than successful signings over the past few years.
