David Pleat: This Tottenham senior man is one of the best out there (not Kane)

Former Tottenham boss David Pleat believes current manager Mauricio Pochettino is one of the best in the business.
The 45-year-old Argentinian has been in charge of the north London club for three years after moving from league rivals Southampton in 2014.
In his three years he has allowed Spurs to break back into the top four and he has currently got them battling in second place in the Premier League table.
His name has been linked with the Barcelona job and Pleat believes it’s due to the team that Pochettino has created at Tottenham.
On a day where Harry Kane is receiving all the plaudits for his two goals against Everton on Sunday, Pleat shared his feelings towards Pochettino.

“Mauricio Pochettino is one of the best managers out there, this is his second successful season at Tottenham,” told Pleat, as quoted by the BBC match day blog (1.34pm).
“Other options for Barcelona are Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone and Sevilla’s Jorge Sampaoli has done well at Sevilla, but Pochettino needs to set something up in the longer term for Spurs.
“He has a youthful English side, a new stadium coming up and good staff around him. He can mould the players into what he want. The training is hard and they appreciate that. Pochettino has done good job, he gets mentioned because of the team he has produced.”
Tottenham’s victory on Sunday afternoon has seen them move four points clear of Liverpool in third with the same matches played.
However, Manchester City still boast two games in hand and they could move two points above Spurs if they win both of their matches.
The north London club will have aspirations of taking the title home and rather than focusing on those behind them, they will be eyeing Chelsea in first.
