Leeds United fell to defeat at home against Cardiff City on Saturday after they were resoundingly beaten 4-1 by a superb display of football from the Welsh side.
Following the game, United manager Thomas Christiansen spoke openly about his future in his press conference and admitted that his tenure with the club was dependant on results, as quoted by Lee Sobot’s Twitter feed: “We know that my situation depends on the results, on the chairman, on Victor and on what they think is best for the team. But I do the best for the team, I want the best for Leeds, this is my work and this what I am going to do…”

It was this which had supporters of the club talking on social media with many of them suggesting that the Danish manager’s time at the club was nearing an end – one even described the 44-year-old boss as a ‘Dead man walking.’
First half goals from Callum Paterson, Junior Hoilett and Sean Morrison on the stroke of half-time gave the Bluebirds a 3-0 lead going into the break, while Gaetano Berardi was also given his marching orders in the 44th minute after a second yellow card for United.
A Sol Bamba own-goal gave the Whites a ray of hope which was later dispelled by Anthony Pilkington’s 88th-minute effort and Cardiff’s fourth of the game.
The Whites are now without a win in six Championship games, having lost four of their last six outings which has seen them slip out of the play off spots and fall to tenth in the league table.
Seven points now separates Leeds from sixth position and all hopes of a promotion push look to be in tatters after this latest setback.
