Confirmed: Rangers wrap up deal for 28-year-old

Rangers have finally completed a deal to sign attacker Jamie Murphy from Premier League side Brighton on loan until the end of the season, it has been confirmed.
The 28-year-old will then join the Gers on a permanent contract in the summer for a fixed, undisclosed fee.
Rangers announced the signing on their official Twitter account in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Murphy had arrived in Glasgow on Thursday to undergo a medical with the Light Blues on a proposed permanent move before a delay started Rangers fans worrying the deal could fall through.
Murphy will now jet out to the United States to link up with his new team-mates at their winter training camp in Florida before facing Brazilian sides Corinthians and Atletico Mineiro in the Florida Cup.
The 28-year-old former Motherwell and Sheffield United winger was a big part of Brighton’s promotion push last season as they tried to get into the Premier League for the first time in their history.
Despite being such an important part of the success of Chris Hughton’s side last season, Murphy struggled for game time this term after the Seagulls boss revamped his squad over the summer.
Murphy is likely to make his competitive debut for the Ibrox side when they travel to face Highland League minnows Fraserburgh on January 21st in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.
Football Insider verdict
Rangers finally managed to get it over the line – even as a temporary move – and Murphy should prove to be a really good bit of business by the Ibrox giants. Barring any hitches, Murphy’s deal will become permanent in the summer with the player already making clear his desire to play for the Light Blues. The 28-year-old should offer Rangers something different going forward and will bring a bit of genuine quality to the Gers forward line. With Rangers playing twice over the next week in Florida, fans will just want to see their new signing in action wearing a Rangers jersey.
In latest Rangers news, Gers fans have blasted the Ibrox board for their handling of Murphy’s transfer.
