Dean Huijsen perfect, Justin Kluivert poor – Bournemouth ratings in win v Arsenal

Dean Huijsen put in a perfect performance as Bournemouth’s come from behind to record a shock 2-1 win over Arsenal.

The Cherries stunning victory over the Gunners has now put them in pole position to qualify for European football.

Following a slow start to the match, Declan Rice gave the home side the lead with a clinical finish in the 34th minute.

However, Huijsen’s beautiful header in the 67th minute levelled the scores, before Evanilson bundled the ball home to complete Bournemouth‘s fightback.

The Cherries’ win sees them leapfrog Fulham and Brighton into eighth place in the Premier League with just three games remaining.

Bournemouth come from behind to defeat Arsenal

Kepa Arrizabalaga – 7

There was little the Spaniard could do for Rice’s opener and the on-loan shot-stopper impressed for his side.

Julian Araujo (off for Scott 65′) – 5

The Mexican right-back has had a difficult time settling in to life in the Premier League and the match against Arsenal was another shaky performance.

Illia Zabarnyi – 8

Resolute. Huijsen claims most of the headlines, but Zabarnyi is right there with him in terms of talent. Bournemouth will be desperate to hang on to him this summer.

Dean Huijsen – 10 – Player of the Match

Superb. Chelsea could sign Huijsen this summer, and his performance against Arsenal proved why the biggest clubs in the world want him, the perfect young centre-back.

Milos Kerkez shuts down Bukayo Saka

Milos Kerkez – 7

Kerkez has been linked with a move to Liverpool, whilst the Hungarian had little luck going forward, he completely shut down Bukayo Saka in the second half.

Lewis Cook – 8

Utility man. Centre-midfield? Dominated it. Shift him out to right-back? Martinelli disappears. Cook is an invaluable player for Iraola and deserves more credit.

Tyler Adams – 6

Whilst Adams did not play a starring role and struggled on the ball at times, he ate up a serious amount of ground and does the dirty work effectively.

Marcus Tavernier – 7

Danger man. The 26-year-old is often overshadowed by his teammates but Tavernier was electric up against Arsenal’s back line.

Evanilson bags unorthodox winner for Bournemouth

Justin Kluivert (off for Semenyo 65′) – 3

Absent. Kluivert is on Newcastle’s list of targets this summer, but against Arsenal, the Dutch attacking midfielder was completely ineffective and was replaced just past the hour mark.

Dango Ouattara (off for Brooks 74′) – 7

The talented winger was having a fine game for his side, but an injury in the latter stages forced him off injured.

Evanilson (off for Jebbison 87′) – 8

The fan-favourite proved why. Evanilson’s red card against Man United was overturned after a review, and what a decision that was, with the Brazilian striker bundling in the winner for his side.

Substitutes

Alex Scott (on for Araujo 65′) – 7

A tidy showing from the young midfielder, worked hard for his side going forwards and back.

Antoine Semenyo (on for Kluivert 65′) – 8

Surprisingly left on the bench, the Ghanaian winger made up for lost time by getting assisting Huijsen’s opener.

David Brooks (on for Ouattara 74′) – 6

Saw little of the ball after replacing Ouattara but was effective when he did.

Daniel Jebbison (on for Evanilson 87′) – 6

Did not have enough time to have a real impact for his side after coming on.
