Tottenham have received an injury boost ahead of the start of the 2017-18 Premier League campaign after it was reported that Kieran Trippier is only set to be sidelined for two weeks.
The Sun revealed that the 26-year-old will only miss up to a fortnight of the new season, but will miss the opening game against Newcastle on Sunday.
It was feared he could be out for around a month after suffering the ankle problem against Juventus in a 2-0 pre-season triumph over the Italian champions.
However, the former Burnley defender is now in a race against time to be fit for the clash against last season’s Premier League title rivals Chelsea on August 20.
Football Insider analyses three ways in which Tottenham can line-up in defence against Newcastle, without Trippier on the right side of their back line, including how a 10-time international could make his debut.
