Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka respond to three-word William Saliba message
Arsenal centre-back William Saliba took to social media to react after a 2-0 victory over Man United on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old scored his first Arsenal goal of the season to make it 2-0 with a fortunate back deflection from a corner.
The North Londoners were without their main aerial target, Gabriel, who picked up an injury against West Ham.
Despite his absence, the team adapted brilliantly, scoring twice. He tagged his deputy, Jakub Kiwior, in a playful celebratory post.
Saliba also shared his excitement on Instagram, posting a picture of an emphatic knee-slide celebration with the caption, “About last night.”
His teammates joined in the fun, with Bukayo Saka commenting with a fire emoji, Gabriel referencing Saliba’s chant, and Jurrien Timber leaving a love heart emoji.
Declan Rice left a cryptic “band 4” comment and was active on social media himself.
The Englishman had a standout performance and won the Premier League Player of the Match award. He proudly showcased it on Instagram, reflecting his growing influence within the team.
William Saliba continues to shine under Mikel Arteta
The Frenchman delivered a flawless performance, effortlessly nullifying United’s attack at times.
His commanding display was pivotal in Arsenal securing their ninth clean sheet across all competitions this season.
Against the Red Devils, his numbers tell the story. He completed 71 passes, won three duels, and conceded zero fouls. He was also key in build-up play, as he had seven passes into the final third with 100% long pass accuracy.

Even without his regular defensive partner, Saliba showcased his adaptability and composure, further solidifying his reputation as one of the Premier League’s standout defenders.
His mentality reflects the winning culture Mikel Arteta has instilled in the team. When asked post-match whether he preferred chasing first place or defending it, he replied: “I don’t care. I just want to win the Premier League.”
His goal also highlighted Arsenal’s prowess from set-pieces. They’ve scored 22 goals from corners since the start of last season—the most in the league and seven more than any other side.
