Declan Rice and William Saliba react to Thomas Partey’s admission at Arsenal
Thomas Partey posted a message on social media following Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Leicester City in the Premier League.
Arsenal secured a crucial three points on 15 February, moving closer to the top of the table as they remain just four points behind leaders Liverpool.
Ethan Nwaneri was the standout Arsenal player of the match, grabbing attention with his impressive performance, while Raheem Sterling failed to make much of an impact in the victory.
Mikel Merino was the unlikely hero for the Gunners, scoring a brace after coming off the bench and playing in an attacking role.
Partey started the game but was substituted in the 76th minute for Jorginho. It was clear from his social media post that the Ghanaian international wasn’t entirely satisfied with his own performance, as he expressed his desire to improve despite the team’s solid result.
Thomas Partey has proven a key figure for Mikel Arteta
Partey took to Instagram to reflect on his performance, posting: “On days when I’m not at my best, the strength of the team carries us to victory. Vamos.”

His teammates, including Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber, William Saliba and David Raya, showed their support by liking the post, highlighting the camaraderie within the squad.
Despite his importance on the pitch, Football Insider revealed that Arsenal are not planning to open contract negotiations with Partey, whose current deal expires this summer.
Instead, Arsenal are prepared to let Partey run down his £150,000-per-week contract, potentially freeing up funds for new signings.
However, his contributions remain vital for Mikel Arteta’s side. He has played 37 times this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists.
His solid form has seen him start 21 of his 24 Premier League appearances, underscoring Arteta’s trust in the Ghanaian international.
Arsenal must maintain momentum in the league amid injury setbacks

Arsenal are edging closer to securing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, suggesting the club may already have identified a potential replacement should Partey depart in the summer.
Amid speculation, Arteta will be hoping then midfielder remains focused on the Premier League title race, especially with the North London club facing West Ham on 22 February. The Gunners are determined to keep their momentum going as they aim to remain in contention for the league title.
Arsenal’s attacking options are currently limited due to injuries to key players such as Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Jesus. Despite this, if players like Partey, who have been key throughout the season, can stay fit, there is hope the title race will go down to the wire.
