Declan Rice hits out in new two-word Arsenal message

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice was awarded the Player of the Match award in their 2-0 Premier League win over Man United on Wednesday (December 4).

The 25-year-old was officially credited with one assist in Arsenal’s home victory over Ruben Amorim’s side, but his in-swinging corners were the main reason Mikel Arteta’s side secured all three points.

Jurrien Timber opened the scoring with his first goal for the club, getting his head on Rice’s corner at the near post and guiding it past Andre Onana in the United goal.

William Saliba doubled Arsenal’s lead in the 73rd minute when a Rice corner was flicked on by Thomas Partey, allowing the center-back to head it into the net.

Arsenal dropped to third despite their win, behind Chelsea by virtue of goal difference in the race for the Premier League title.

Set piece coach Nicolas Jover has had an immense impact on the North London club, with Arteta’s side scoring a whopping 22 goals from corners since the start of last season, the most in the Premier League.
