Declan Rice, James Maddison react to Jordan Henderson’s message after development

Declan Rice and James Maddison reacted to a social media post from former Liverpool star Jordan Henderson following Ajax’s hard-fought Europa League victory on Thursday.

Despite the Dutch side losing 2-1 to Union St Gilloise on 20 February, the England midfielder’s side qualified for the round of 16 on a 3-2 aggregate score following 30 minutes of extra time.

While Henderson has become somewhat of a controversial figure in football since leaving Anfield, he is still very much seen as a legendary figure by the passionate fanbase.

He led the Reds to their first Premier League title in 30 years, and Mohamed Salah might just be about to deliver the same to Liverpool for the first time since that moment.

Following a dramatic victory on Thursday night, Henderson took to Instagram to share an image of the post-match celebrations despite only getting onto the pitch in extra time.

The photo was captioned: “Together! Last 16,” with three red X’s, a post which both Arsenal’s Rice and Tottenham’s James Maddison liked.

The former Liverpool captain has been shown plenty of love from his current supporters, having helped lead Ajax over the line in a tough battle with their Belgian opponents.

Arne Slot still has Liverpool rebuild ahead after legend’s 2023 farewell

Arne Slot has plenty of difficult decisions to make, ones which Jurgen Klopp has seemingly passed down to him in his new role at Anfield.

While Salah and Virgil van Dijk’s new deals at Liverpool are “as good as done”, as Paul Robinson told Football Insider, there is still worry over where Trent Alexander-Arnold could be next season.

The defender has been heavily linked with a to move Real Madrid, with Football Insider understanding that the Reds do not expect a final decision from the Liverpool star on his future until the end of the campaign.

Scepticism over Ibrahima Konate and Jota Silva has left Slot with plenty of positions to address once the summer transfer window opens, and will likely upset a lot of fans with these difficult decisions.

Federico Chiesa’s move from Juventus has not paid off at all yet, and many Liverpool fans are concerned about the arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili.
