Declan Rice reacts to Gabriel Martinelli’s update as ‘Arsenal stance’ over exit revealed

Gabriel Martinelli had an update for supporters despite the continued speculation surrounding his Arsenal future.

Martinelli endured a frustrating 2024/25 campaign as Arsenal once again missed out on silverware, finishing second in the Premier League for the third consecutive season.

The Brazilian struggled to find consistency, with his end product often criticised as the Gunners looked for greater attacking efficiency. With the club now targeting a new winger this summer, their stance over the winger has seemingly been revealed with reports suggesting Arsenal are open to offers for Martinelli should a significant bid be made.

This comes after Football Insider revealed that Arsenal are prepared to sanction a sale for Martinelli, especially with further attacking reinforcements expected to arrive in the coming months.

Amid the ongoing rumours, the winger shared a positive update for fans while away on international duty despite the uncertainty surrounding his future.

Gabriel Martinelli prepares for Brazil’s World Cup qualifier against Paraguay

With club football on hold, players have joined up with their national teams, and Martinelli is among those called up by Brazil under new manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The Arsenal winger shared a training update on social media as Brazil prepare to face Paraguay in their upcoming World Cup qualifier as he was pictured alongside Fulham’s Andreas Pereira, with the post attracting plenty of attention.

Arsenal teammates Declan Rice and Gabriel Magalhaes were among those to react, along with Brazil teammates Bruno Guimaraes, Bournemouth’s Evanilson, and Manchester United’s latest signing Matheus Cunha.

Ancelotti’s reign with Brazil began with a goalless draw against Ecuador, and the Selecao will now be looking to bounce back against Paraguay on 11 June as they currently sit fourth in the CONMEBOL qualifying table.

Arsenal push for Morgan Rogers signing amid Martinelli exit links

As questions continue to swirl around Martinelli’s future, the Gunners appear to be actively pursuing options to strengthen their attack on the left.

Arsenal have reportedly placed Aston Villa winger Morgan Rogers on their list of summer targets, with the 22-year-old emerging as a serious candidate to replace Martinelli if he departs.

Aston Villa are facing pressure to offload key players due to Profit and Sustainability Rule (PSR) concerns following their failure to qualify for the Champions League.

While Rogers would command a sizeable transfer fee and his departure would be unpopular with fans, Villa may be forced to cash in if the right offer comes in.
