Declan Rice responds to Gabriel Jesus’ recovery update to Arsenal fans

Declan Rice joined Arsenal teammates in reacting as Gabriel Jesus shared another promising update with fans on his road to recovery.

The Brazilian forward has been out of action since January after suffering an ACL injury that ruled him out for the remainder of the season.

His absence left the club short of options in attack, and Arsenal fans urged the club to bring in a striker after Jesus’ injury.

However, the Gunners opted to wait until the summer window, which is a decision that arguably backfired as they ended the campaign without silverware for a fourth consecutive season.

Before the setback, Jesus had begun to find form, netting six goals in December and finally building some momentum. But his progress was cruelly halted just as he was becoming a key figure in the side.

Now, he has posted an encouraging video update showing his recovery in action, much to the delight of supporters and teammates alike.

Arsenal stars react as Gabriel Jesus shares recovery update

The Brazilian striker posted a video on Instagram showing himself stepping up his recovery, alongside a message that read: “Evolving… And thank you to [Palmeiras] for opening the doors so I could use this amazing structure in my recovery while I’m home. Always a pleasure to be here.”

The post was warmly received by teammates, with Rice commenting: “We waiting for you brother.”

Other notable reactions came from Leandro Trossard, Jurrien Timber and former Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino, who all liked the post in support.

Before suffering his ACL injury, Jesus made 27 appearances for Mikel Arteta’s side during the 2024/25 season, scoring seven goals and registering two assists in 1,204 minutes of action.

However, his finishing came under scrutiny throughout the campaign, with some Arsenal fans calling for the club to sell Jesus in order to bring in a more clinical striker.

The Gunners are expected to sign a new centre-forward this summer, though they have yet to settle on a preferred target.

Arsenal are currently weighing up moves for Benjamin Sesko and Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres, but a formal offer is yet to be submitted for either player.

Gyokeres is understood to favour a move to the Emirates over rival interest from Manchester United, but it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will pursue the Swede or opt for Sesko as their long-term solution in attack.
