Declan Rice responds to Gabriel Martinelli’s Arsenal message amid ‘exit decision’

Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli posted a fresh update for supporters despite ongoing speculation over a potential transfer away from the club.

Martinelli endured a difficult 2024/25 campaign, with Arsenal’s attack lacking consistency in a season that saw them finish second in the Premier League for the third year running.

The Brazilian’s individual form drew criticism from sections of the fanbase, with some frustrated Arsenal supporters even calling for the club to consider selling Martinelli this summer.

Those calls may not go unheard regarding a potential exit, as former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Arsenal are prepared to accept offers for Martinelli if a significant bid comes in.

Still, with his future uncertain, he has shared a fresh update with fans on social media, posting in the midst of continued rumours about a potential exit.

Gabriel Martinelli focused on Arsenal amid transfer speculation

Most of the Arsenal squad returned to training last week as pre-season preparations got underway, with Martinelli among those rejoining the group.

He shared a series of photos from the latest training session on Instagram, simply captioned: “Back to work.”

Despite ongoing rumours about his future at the Emirates, several of his teammates showed their support, with Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, and William Saliba all liking the post.

Martinelli will be hoping for a stronger campaign if he remains in north London beyond the transfer window, having scored just eight Premier League goals last season. He is still chasing the form he showed in 2022/23, when he netted 15 times in the league.

The Brazilian has often found himself rotated with Leandro Trossard, who may also be on the move. Trossard has attracted interest from Saudi Pro League sides, especially as he enters the final year of his current contract.

With question marks over both Martinelli and Trossard’s futures, Arteta’s side look set to move for a new forward before the window closes.

Football Insider revealed Arsenal are still pursuing a deal for Real Madrid star Rodrygo, who could be available this summer.

Although Real Madrid are expected to demand a fee in the region of £85 million for Rodrygo, Arsenal will likely look to negotiate a lower price. The Brazilian’s limited minutes at the Club World Cup could also strengthen the North London club’s position in talks as they look for a new left-winger.
