Declan Rice sends ‘amazing’ message to West Ham players

Declan Rice sent a new social media message to the West Ham staff and supporters following their 5-2 defeat to Arsenal at the London Stadium.

Mikel Arteta’s side cruised to a comfortable victory away from home, thanks to goals from Gabriel Magalhaes, Lenadro Trossard, Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Emerson scored for the hosts.

A big win on the road has moved the side up to second in the Premier League table and closed the gap on Liverpool, who will face Man City on Sunday (1 December).

It was Rice’s third visit to his former club since joining Arsenal, and the second time he has come out on the winning side.

Now, he has sent a message to the “familiar faces” in East London following an “amazing” win for the Gunners, in a nod to his former colleagues.

The 25-year-old confessed he enjoys going back to the stadium where he made his name as a player before his £105million move to the Emirates.

Taking to Instagram following the game, the former Hammers captain wrote: “Amazing win today! Always nice to go back and see familiar faces. On to next we go.”

Declan Rice send West Ham message as Arsenal reignite title charge

Rice made 245 appearances for the senior team at West Ham after coming through the academy ranks, establishing himself as a regular England international in the process.

During his spell at the London Stadium, he became the captain, a fans’ favourite and under David Moyes’ leadership, helped lift the Europa Conference League.

However, his big-money move to Arsenal in the wake of the Hammers’ trophy-winning success left a sour taste in the mouths of sections of the support.

Now, he has established himself as a crucial player in Mikel Arteta’s side, having started 11 of their 13 league games and four of their five in the Champions League so far this season.

Arsenal are looking to get their title challenge back on track after key players returned from injuries, having gotten back to winning ways in recent weeks.
