'We are delighted' - Craig Gordon gives verdict after Celtic agree terms with goal machine

Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon has told that the club are delighted following Stuart Armstrong’s new contract extension at the Glasgow giants.

The Scottish giants announced via their official website and Twitter account on Friday morning that the 25-year-old midfield goal machine had agreed to the terms of a new two-year deal.

It has been a deal that has been highly appreciated by those associated with the Glasgow giants and that includes goalkeeper Gordon, who hailed the news as “good” for the club in his Friday press conferece, stating he was one of Celtic’s best players last season.

The goalkeeper’s quotes were covered by the official Celtic Twitter account on Friday afternoon.

Armstrong was a key part of Celtic’s treble winning last campaign which saw him bag a fine 17 goals and seven assists in 47 matches in all competitions.

He has also already got on the goal charts this season with two strikes from his opening eight appearances.

The attacking midfielder will now be hoping to continue impressing in Brendan Rodgers’ team as they look to repeat last season’s success as well as progressing past the Champions League group stage.
