'Delighted with that' - Rangers fans react to second qualifying round Europa League draw

Rangers will face CS Petrocub of Moldova or Croatia’s NK Osijek in the second round of Europa League qualifying if they can beat FK Shpuki – and Gers fans are in a confident mood that their side can reach the next round.

The Gers’ potential opponents were confirmed by UEFA on their official website after Wednesday’s draw in Nyon.

The Light Blues will need to get by the Macedonian minnows first before facing a possible second trip to the Balkans should Osijek win their first round tie.

Gers fans were happy to avoid some of the big names in the draw and a tie they feel they can win – with one fan saying they’ll “take that” after dodging the likes of RB Leipzig.

Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

If Gerrard’s side can reach the second qualifying round then they will play the first leg away from home on July 26th before hosting the return on August 2nd.

The Light Blues will be hoping to build momentum going into the new Scottish Premiership campaign with a string of good performances in Europe.

With only one friendly before the competitive action gets started, Gerrard won’t have much time to iron out any problems within his side.
