Derek Johnstone: This senior Rangers player won't be at the club next season

Derek Johnstone believes Rangers centre-back Philippe Senderos won’t be at the club next season.
Summer signing Senderos joined the Glasgow outfit on a free transfer but the senior player has barely featured for the club throughout this campaign.
The former Premier League player was brought in by Mark Warburton, who has since left the club, with his replacement Pedro Caixinha also opting to leave him out of his plans.
During the club’s last league fixture, Caixinha opted to play youngsters, David Bates and Myles Beerman, once again overlooking Senderos.
Former Gers man Johnstone offered his thoughts on Senderos and what the future holds for the senior defender.

“I can’t help thinking that unless he knows something we don’t, Philippe Senderos, after last Saturday, must realise that he won’t be a Rangers player after this summer,” Johnstone told the Evening Times.
“I don’t think that comes as a shock to anyone; his stay in Glasgow has been doomed from the off, ever since being pitched in at the deep end in the Old Firm game which ended in a 5-1 loss and a red card.
“After that, it was going to take something special to find a way back. And he just didn’t have it.”
Over the course of the season, Senderos has played only four matches for the club, picking up one red card against Celtic.
Senderos’ debut for the club was a disaster because he was part of a side that was hammered 5-1 by their Old Firm rivals.
To top it all off, he was shown two yellow cards during the match and since that game, he has only featured on three more occasions.
Senderos has had vasts amounts of experience at different clubs during his time as a player, including lifting the FA Cup while playing in England.
He represented the likes of Arsenal, Aston Villa, Everton and Fulham during his time in the Premier League.
