Tottenham utility man Eric Dier has been left raving over team mate Lucas Moura since his arrival from Paris Saint Germain and says that the Brazilian have qualities which make him a different class to others.
The 35-cap international speed machine arrived at Spurs on a deadline day deal from the French giants at the end of the January window, and has slowly integrated himself into the first team after a lack of match fitness.
With three appearances and a single goal under his belt to date, fans will be hoping to see much more of their winter signing between now and the end of the season, and Dier’s rave review suggests they should be excited about what is to come.
The English star, who has been a mainstay in the first team this season, told Ham and High: “He’s direct, he’s fast. Technically he’s very good, even though he’s travelling at a high speed a lot of the time.
“I think one of his qualities that I really enjoy is that even though he’s fast and moves at pace, he still sees a pass, he’s still intelligent.
“Sometimes it’s difficult for players that have these attributes to still have the calmness in the final third and see the right pass and the right situation, and I think that’s a great quality.”
Lucas made 229 appearances for PSG before finding himself cast out of the first team reckoning, with just six outings across all competitions before his January exit.
He scored his first goal in what was his first start for the club in the 2-2 draw with Rochdale in the FA Cup, and will be hoping to replicate the feat, along with securing victory, on Wednesday night in the replay.
In other Tottenham news, Ronaldinho has made a sensational claim about the club’s future success.
