'Different class' - Exclusive: Darren Bent reacts as Leeds plot 'Fantastic' PL signing
Darren Bent insists that Leeds United will need to sign a “different class” of player if they are promoted to the Premier League this season.
The former Aston Villa and England striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, believes a permanent deal for Jack Harrison would be “value for money” after his loan spell.
As revealed exclusively by Football Insider, Marcelo Bielsa has made the 23-year-old his first-choice signing if the Whites are promoted this season, with an option of just under £10million in his loan terms.
Bent insists that would represent a good bit of business at Elland Road but that they might also need to look at a higher calibre of player to succeed among the elite of English football.
Bent told Football Insider: “I think it is value for money, I think he’s done well.
“What’s different is that managers will say this. Unless there’s an agreement in place, you have to take it with a pinch of salt because if they get promoted, all of a sudden you’re shopping in a very different market.

“When you get promoted it’s a different market so as well as he’s done, and he’s been fantastic, the Premier League is a different class.”
Harrison, who has spent the last season-and-a-half at Elland Road, has been a mainstay for Bielsa, with 82 appearances under his belt for the Whites.
This season has seen him play 40 times across all competitions, with five goals and seven assists.
