Former midfielder Simon Walton has blasted current full-back Charlie Taylor on Twitter after he refused to play for Leeds against Wigan on Sunday.
The 23-year-old left-back’s contract is set to expire for the Yorkshire giants this summer and he hasn’t been short of Premier League interest.
But, after refusing to play in the club’s season finale at the DW Stadium he has certainly burnt his bridges and received a lot of anger from those associated with Leeds.
Of those includes Walton and the ex-England Under-19 international described the act as “disgusting and unacceptable” via his personal Twitter account.
Taylor, like Walton is a product of the Leeds academy and the young left-back made his debut for the club back in 2011 at the age of 17.
He has since gone on to play 104 times for the famous club and was largely considered one of the better players in the team in previous seasons.
However, this campaign has seen him lose his place to Gaetano Berardi in the starting eleven under Gary Monk and it is now looking likely that he will not be wearing the club’s colours again.
