'Doesn't help' - Pochettino issues stern warning to Tottenham player after win v Huddersfield
By Danny Wright
Mauricio Pochettino has warned Dele Alli that he is letting Tottenham down after he was booked for diving against Huddersfield on Saturday.
Alli, 21, was shown a yellow card for simulation in the second half of Spurs’ 4-0 hammering of David Wagner’s side at the John Smith’s Stadium, prompting a big reaction from the fans after the game who slammed him for his antics.
Now, Pochettino has issued a stern warning to the England international that he must learn from his mistakes and become a better player as a result.
“He needs to learn, he must,” he said, as quoted by TalkSport.
“This type of action doesn’t help him, doesn’t help the club and doesn’t help football. We are talking these last few years about fair play and being honest. He has improved a lot but still there is that little bit (he) must learn.”

Alli has been criticised for his form in recent weeks but looked a lot more composed on Saturday after he missed the midweek win over APOEL Nicosia in the Champions League through suspension.
The midfielder has been constantly hailed during his career, but there have always been questions asked of his attitude after making the headlines for the wrong reasons.
He has made eight appearances for Tottenham across all competitions this term, scoring three goals and supplying one assist in the process.
Alli will now be looking to switch his focus to the international stage with England as Gareth Southgate’s side look to secure qualification to the 2018 World Cup.
