Dom Solanke and Pedro Porro react to Romero’s ‘love always’ Tottenham message

Cristian Romero appears to be winning supporters around on social media as the Tottenham squad prepares for the 2025/26 campaign.

Daniel Levy has ensured a shakeup in North London, with Ange Postecoglou being replaced by Thomas Frank despite winning the Europa League, and many fans still cannot get their heads around the decision.

However, with just a few weeks remaining until the new Premier League season kicks off, the Lilywhites are working hard over in Asia to make sure they can hit the ground running back in England.

Currently, all appears positive, with Micky van de Ven and Romero staying off the treatment table, and Mohammed Kudus adding a brand-new dynamic to the final third following his £55million move [BBC Sport].

Tottenham fans were fuming with Romero last term, with the Argentine continuously sidelined while rumours grew around his impending exit, but another season in North London has never looked more likely.

Cristian Romero enjoys injury-free pre-season

Taking to Instagram (29 July), Romero, translated to English, wrote: “Thanks for all the love always, fans. We keep going,” alongside a white heart and images from Spurs’ pre-season tour.

With supporters beginning to take a shine to the experienced defender, they flocked onto social media to like the post, joining the likes of Radu Dragusin, Pedro Porro, and Dominic Solanke.

Thomas Frank to build squad around Tottenham stars

Football Insider verdict

Frank will be keen to keep the bulk of the squad together over the coming weeks, with only Kudus added so far, and a few members leaving on free transfers at the end of their contracts.

Tottenham had made a move for Morgan Gibbs-White, but with the playmaker signing a new deal at Nottingham Forest, the Lilywhites will need to move on to other targets this summer.

Now, Mick Brown has revealed to Football Insider that Spurs could sign a Son Heung-min replacement in the form of Man United’s Alejandro Garnacho, and fans are split about the Argentine winger.

It will be interesting to see where the new manager feels improvements are needed in the current squad, having admitted that multiple targets are still on the list ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

With friendly fixtures upcoming against Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Bayern Munich, before facing PSG in the UEFA Super Cup, there will be plenty of chances to take a look at all players still present.

Alejo Veliz, Alfie Dorrington, and Ashley Phillips have all been allowed to leave on loan, and they are unlikely to be the last as the summer transfer window trundles on in the background.
