Dominic Calvert-Lewin drops Newcastle transfer reveal after talks
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has informed Everton of his desire to join Newcastle United this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The 27-year-old is keen to seal a move to St James’ Park this summer after the Magpies firmed up their interest in the striker.
As revealed by Football Insider on Sunday (23 June), talks are now advancing between Newcastle and Everton as the two clubs thrash out a fee for the striker.
Negotiations have taken place over the weekend, with the Merseysiders believed to be holding out for around £25million to part with Calvert-Lewin.
Newcastle’s interest in the forward comes as he prepares to enter the final 12 months of his contract at Goodison Park.
Everton are also believed to be again close to the allowable loss limit under Profitability and Sustainability (PSR), with Football Insider revealing last month (21 May) that Sean Dyche’s will need to sell at least one of their “big” stars before submitting their 2023-24 accounts at the end of June.
Calvert-Lewin wants to quit Everton for Newcastle after £25m latest
Calvert-Lewin was the club’s top scorer in the 2023-24 campaign with eight goals in a relatively injury-free campaign.
He started 32 times in 38 total appearances for Everton last term.
Newcastle have launched a move for the 11-cap England star despite already having Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak on the books at St James’ Park.

Dyche will be forced to rely on strikers Beto, Neal Maupay and Chermiti if Calvert-Lewin departs, with all three forwards yet to discover a prolific touch on Merseyside.
The Toffees are locked in a takeover process with American billionaire Dan Friedkin, who agreed to a period of exclusivity to seal the deal last week.
