Dominic Solanke drops Tottenham comeback hint, Djed Spence responds

Dominic Solanke has provided a glimmer of hope for Tottenham fans with a new social media post hinting that his return from injury may be closer than initially thought.

The striker has been sidelined since January due to a knee injury, missing the last six matches for Tottenham as he focuses on his recovery.

Throughout his time out, he has remained active on social media, as shown when Solanke recently directed a message to Djed Spence as the full-back continues to make his mark in the squad.

In his absence, Mathys Tel has impressed Tottenham fans and has stepped up since arriving in the January transfer window, making a positive impact on the pitch.

However, with Solanke’s latest update on social media, his return to the squad may be earlier than expected.

Djed Spence and Brennan Johnson react to cryptic Dominic Solanke message

Solanke recently posted a series of intriguing photos on Instagram, including a photo of him participating in a training session, captioned with the phrase “Tick-Tock.”

In the comments, Spence humorously responded to one of the images featuring an anime character wearing a white and blue shirt reminiscent of the Tottenham home kit, asking, “Anime character in a Spurs shirt?”

Other teammates, including Archie Gray, Brennan Johnson, and Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, showed their support by liking the post.

Solanke was initially set to miss 12 matches due to a knee injury, but it remains uncertain whether he will make an earlier return to the squad.

Postecoglou counts on Dominic Solanke to spark Tottenham’s revival

While Solanke has faced criticism from Tottenham fans for his performances this season, he has had a solid debut campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists in 29 appearances across all competitions.

It’s evident that manager Ange Postecoglou relies on him to lead the line for Spurs, even with Tel’s recent rise in prominence.

With Solanke out, the team has struggled with depth in the forward position, particularly as Richarlison has also faced injury issues and has fallen out of favour.

They currently sit in 13th place in the Premier League with just 33 points, but their struggles can largely be attributed to injuries affecting key players.

However, the team has managed to win their last three matches, and Postecoglou will be hoping that this momentum can carry them through their next challenge against Manchester City on 26 February.
