Dominic Solanke reacts to Liverpool new boy Jeremie Frimpong’s message

Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke has reacted to a message shared by Liverpool summer signing Jeremie Frimpong.

Arne Slot will hope that Jeremie Frimpong proves to be an adequate replacement for fellow attack-minded fullback Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Netherlands international notched five goals and nine assists across all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen this term, which should excite the Anfield faithful.

Meanwhile, Alexander-Arnold will be determined to have a strong impact during Xabi Alonso’s first season as Real Madrid boss.

Frimpong helped the Netherlands defeat Finland 2-0 on Saturday, 7 June, with goals arriving from Memphis Depay and Denzel Dumfries.

The Liverpool man celebrated the victory on Instagram [8 June] as he wrote: “Clean sheet, solid start. Onto the next one.”

Frimpong’s post attracted a like from Solanke, who helped Tottenham win the Europa League by scoring five goals in 13 appearances in the competition.

Darwin Nunez is expected to leave Liverpool

Frimpong’s signature demonstrates how keen Arne Slot is to add yet more quality to his squad after steering the Merseyside giants to Premier League glory in his first season in charge at Anfield.

Meanwhile, Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Liverpool remain confident of signing Florian Wirtz, who scored for Germany in their 2-1 defeat to Portugal on Wednesday, 4 June.

Paul Robinson has even backed Slot to hijack Manchester City’s Rayan Cherki swoop after the winger notched 12 goals and 20 assists in 44 appearances for Lyon this season.

But as the Merseyside club eye some of Europe’s biggest talents, Slot’s men will also have to facilitate the exits of some of their current stars.

Football Insider have exclusively reported that Darwin Nunez is still expected to leave Liverpool, as the Uruguayan striker has struggled in front of goal at Anfield.

Meanwhile, football finance expert Dan Plumley told Liverpool News 247 that the Reds could spend £200million this summer and not lose any players.
