Dominic Solanke ‘likes’ Antoine Semenyo’s Bournemouth message
Bournemouth stars past and present were among those to react to Antoine Semenyo’s emotional message for the supporters after their gesture during the game.
Bournemouth picked up their first win of the season as Andoni Iraola’s side edged out Wolves 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium on 23 August.
Semenyo played a key role in the decisive moment of the match, driving forward before teeing up Marcus Tavernier, who fired home what proved to be the only goal of the game.
But the day was about more than just the result as in the 24th minute, Bournemouth fans chanted for Ghanaian winger, showing their support after Semenyo reported an incident of alleged racist abuse during the club’s opening fixture away at Liverpool.
The gesture clearly struck a chord with the winger, who later shared a message of appreciation for the fans and his post quickly drew a flood of supportive reactions from current and former Bournemouth teammates alike.

The winger posted on Instagram with pictures from the game, expressing his gratitude for the supporters’ show of solidarity during the 24th minute and their win.
He wrote: “Cherries fans! Thank you for your support in the 24th minute. God bless you all but good win and important 3 points! Good to be back at the Vitality again.”
Semenyo’s message was quickly met with support from his current and former teammates, with Jaidon Anthony commenting with heart emojis, while Justin Kluivert, Tavernier and Dominic Solanke all liked the post.
Semenyo had already delivered a standout performance against Liverpool on the opening weekend, and despite the abuse he reported, he refused to let it affect his form.
Since joining Bournemouth, he has established himself as a crucial player under Iraola, carrying momentum from last season where he scored 13 goals and registered seven assists in all competitions.
Although his strong form inevitably attracted interest this summer, he put speculation to rest as Semenyo signed a new deal earlier in the window, reinforcing his commitment to the club.

Bournemouth told to keep Antoine Semenyo amid Premier League interest
The Ghana international’s performances have caught the eye across the division, with Football Insider reporting that Tottenham are among the clubs keeping tabs on Semenyo.
However, Bournemouth were determined not to lose another key player, having already seen Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez depart this summer.
Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has urged Bournemouth to “hang on” to Semenyo given his consistent impact, and although he has already signed an extension, interest in his signature is expected to remain high if his form continues.
