Dominic Solanke reacts to Guglielmo Vicario announcement at Tottenham

Guglielmo Vicario’s recent announcement on Instagram has caught the attention of a number of his Tottenham team-mates, including Dominic Solanke.

The Spurs keeper helped his side reach the Europa League final, as Tottenham beat Bodo Glimt 2-0 in the second leg of the semi-final and 5-1 on aggregate.

With their domestic form in tatters, Ange Postecoglou’s side will be desperate to get their hands on some silverware to save their season.

Manchester United will be Tottenham’s opponents in the final, with the two sides sitting 15th and 16th respectively in the Premier League.

Not only will the winners get a much-needed trophy to lift spirits around their club, but they will also secure a place in next season’s Champions League.

Vicario wins Premier League award

Spurs confirmed on Instagram that he has won the Premier League save of the month award for April, after pulling off a finger-tip stop against Chelsea.

During Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat to their London rivals, Jadon Sancho found himself free in the box and his right-footed effort looked destined for the top corner.

However, Vicario was on hand to tip the ball over the bar, flinging himself to his left-hand side to make the one-handed save.

Solanke was quick to congratulate his keeper on winning the award, liking the post to show his appreciation.

Tottenham team-mates Radu Dragusin and Destiny Udogie also showed their support by liking the photo.

Tottenham must win Europa League

Football Insider Verdict

It is absolutely crucial that Tottenham win their Europa League final against Man United, to ensure that they can complete their summer business.

Reaching Champions League football is almost more important than the trophy itself, as it will allow Spurs to attract better talent to North London.

Also, with Postecoglou’s job in the balance, Tottenham are interested in Roberto De Zerbi and Marco Silva, with the former only interested in joining if Spurs are playing in Europe’s elite competition.

Tottenham are 16th in the Premier League

Finishing in the bottom half of the Premier League is simply not acceptable for a club of Tottenham’s size, let alone being as low as 16th in the table.

With the finances they have at their disposal, they should easily be reaching Europe and potentially challenging for Premier League titles.

Daniel Levy must be bold and aggressive in the transfer window, to ensure that next season isn’t as dismal as this campaign has been for the Spurs fans.
