Dominic Solanke reacts to Mathys Tel’s three-word vow after Wolves defeat
Mathys Tel took to social media with a three-word message to the Tottenham fans following another disappointing 4-2 loss to Wolves.
Wolves raced to a two goal advantage through mistakes by Guglielmo Vicario, first when he parried the ball back into the path of Rayan Ait-Nouri to volley home, and again when the goalkeeper pushed a shot onto Djed Spence for an own goal.
The theme of mistakes continued with Tottenham twice pulling within one behind, as Tel capitalised on Nelson Semedo’s misjudged clearance to pull one back, before substitute Richarlison scored from close-range.
This was not enough, however, with the in-form Jørgen Strand Larsen scoring and Matheus Cunha rounding off an excellent display from the home side.

In a message from Tel’s official instagram account on Sunday (13 April), the 19-year-old said: “Learn and react” which received reactions from Tottenham teammates Dominic Solanke, Destiny Udogie and Wilson Odobert.

However, if Tel’s first 11 games for the club are anything to go by, then it seems unlikely that Tottenham will trigger the obligation when the window opens.

Tel has managed just three goals across his 592 minutes since the turn of the year, including one penalty and his strike against Wolves which just happened to hit him before going in.
The 19-year-old joined with high expectations from his time in Germany, but is yet to repay the faith shown in him by Tottenham as of yet.
However, with the growing uncertainty surrounding Ange Postecoglou’s future, the circumstances since his arrival have not created an environment that many players would thrive in.
