Done deal: 22-year-old agrees Nottingham Forest terms

By Dominic Toner

Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of midfielder Aaron Tshibola, it was announced on Monday afternoon.

The Midlands giants confirmed on their official Twitter account that the 22-year-old has completed his move to the City Ground from Aston Villa.

The central midfielder has joined on loan until the end of the season after failing to cement his position at Villa.

Tshibola moved to Villa Park in the summer from Reading and has managed just 10 senior appearances.

The Englishman is a highly rated midfielder and impressed during his spell with Reading, but struggled due to tough competition for places at Villa Park.

He is a ball playing midfielder and should also provide a strong defensive cover to the Forest side.

Forest recently sold talisman Henri Lansbury to Villa and will hope that Tshibola can fill a hole left in the midfield.

Football Insider verdict:

Tshibola is certainly an exciting prospect and could turn out to be a top player for Forest from now until the end of the season. The midfielder never really managed to impress during his first six months at Villa, but he still has plenty of quality and can improve the Forest squad. The former England under-18 international can still develop his game and the 22-year-old proved at Reading he can be formidable in the Championship. Thsibola is a big physical presence in the centre and isn’t afraid to put a tackle in. The Midlands club are just above the relegation places and could easily be dragged into the fight, but have a player in Tshibola you would want in those kind of situations.
