Celtic complete last-second deal as Rodgers beats deadline by moments - report

Jack Hendry has signed for Celtic in a very late deal for Brendan Rodgers, according to a report.
The Daily Record claims that Brendan Rodgers “beat the deadline by moments”.
The deal was progressing today but it had seemed like the clubs might be too far apart to get a deal done in time.
However, with a later deadline of midnight in Scotland, Celtic have managed to get it over the line.
The Scottish Sun’s live transfer blog (31/01 1.36) had claimed earlier that Dundee wanted £1.5million for the defender.
It had even been claimed that Rangers might be considering a late hijack for the player.
The Daily Record’s live transfer blog (31/01 2:32) claimed that the 22-year-old had been discussed at Rangers although it was admitted that they couldn’t compete with Celtic financially.
Then, at around 9.30pm on Wednesday, Stephen McGowan, the Scottish Daily Mail Chief Football Writer, announced that the player was expected at Celtic to wrap up a £1million deal.

That didn’t leave the clubs long to get a deal done but they managed to get it over the line just before the official deadline.
Football Insider verdict:
There’s something even more satisfying about a deal that’s completed deep in injury time. It might have frayed the nerves of the Celtic chiefs but it added some extra drama to a transfer window that’s been relatively tame for Celtic. The biggest news was the addition of Charly Musonda from Chelsea who impressed the fans on his debut. However, Hendry could be absolutely crucial to Celtic’s success this season as they prepare to do battle on a number of different fronts. This deal is a very good deal, probably for both sides.
