McBride was the subject of speculation from Newcastle United last year after it emerged the Magpies were interested in the youngster.
But the Scottish champions have now secured the services of the young striker
And the 16-year-old is elated to have made the move to Celtic Park and Tweeted, ‘Delighted to have signed with @CelticFC.’
McBride will now likely head straight into the Hoops youth team to continue his development up to Brendan Rodgers’ senior side.
Football Insider verdict:
This is a fantastic move for the young striker who looks to have an exciting future ahead of him. After already representing the U17s for Scotland, the Scottish native has clearly made an impression on the footballing elite after also being eyed up by Newcastle. But at Celtic he couldn’t be at a better side considering their recent development of talented youngsters, particularly Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney – the latter being named one of UEFA’s 50 players to watch in 2018.
