Done Deal: Everton confirm exit of versatile 22-year-old (not Barkley)

Fleetwood Town have announced the permanent signing of Gethin Jones from Everton FC on a long-term deal.
Football Insider broke the news that Jones was in advanced talks with Fleetwood on Wednesday, with the player looking for first-team football which he was not receiving at Goodison Park.
The 22-year-old has now officially joined Fleetwood Town in League One, having spent his time last season on loan in the Championship at Barnsley, where he played 17 times.
The news was announced on the official Fleetwood Town and Everton Twitter pages on Friday afternoon.

The young defender has the ability to play on either side of the defence in a full-back position, and has done this at both club and international level – as the Australian born represents Wales.
Fleetwood boss Uwe Rosler stated, “For a club like us who needs players who cover certain positions, it is optimal to have a player like Gethin.
“He can play both full-back positions. He is right-footed but played games for Barnsley on the left side.”
Fleetwood currently sith 12th in League One, but the gap between their current position and the play-offs is a manageable eight points.
Football Insider verdict:
Gethin Jones is certainly an up and coming talent. His diverse range of playing options makes him versatile for his new manager Uwe Rosler, and having spent a season on loan in the Championship, the young Welsh international will be able to handle life in League One. Consistent match playing time is what is needed for the young full-back to take his game to the next level.
