Door open for Leeds to sign two Premier League players 'they love' after Harrison news - Whelan
Noel Whelan has tipped Leeds United to look at signing another Premier League star on loan after Jack Harrison joined permanently.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the door had opened for Marcelo Bielsa to bring in another top-flight talent.
Leeds confirmed on July 2nd they had triggered the purchase clause in Harrison’s loan terms to turn his stay permanent.
The 24-year-old has signed a three-year deal at Elland Road, having spent the last three seasons on loan at the club.
Football Insider revealed on July 3rd the total cost of the deal, including transfer fee, add-ons and wages, exceeds £20million.
Harrison’s permanent move means Leeds will be allowed to make two loan signings from other Premier League clubs this season.

As such, Whelan suggested the Whites would be looking to seal another temporary deal with a top-flight rival.
“I think you’ve got to use every little piece of armoury you have if you’re going to be competitive in the Premier League,” Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“We’ve opened up that little slot there to get somebody in. Somebody that might have been a kind of question mark.
” Someone they felt could do something at the club but didn’t want to splash all the cash.
“I think it’s a very wise option. It’s something that gives you a free card really. I think they’ll use it wisely, whether we use it at the beginning of the season.
“I’m sure they’ve got players in mind. Someone they would love to go and grab and get in without paying full odds for them.
“They’ll want to see how they would settle into a club, as you would do. The club have been very clever in the way they’ve done about things.”
