Door open for Liverpool to sign Aurelien Tchouameni after Real Madrid latest – La Liga expert
Liverpool still have a chance to sign Aurelien Tchouameni but may find it difficult to compete with the money Real Madrid can offer him, according to Kevin Campbell.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Arsenal striker and La Liga TV pundit claimed Real Madrid’s potential contract offer could be a “stumbling block” for Liverpool.
A recruitment source told Football Insider earlier this month (12 May) that the Reds, Chelsea and Man City have all registered their interest in the 22-year-old and Monaco are preparing a list of potential replacements.
Fabrizio Romano reported earlier this week (27 May) that Tchouameni’s preference is a move to the Bernabeu and negotiations are now set to restart after the Champions League.
Real Madrid beat Liverpool 1-0 on Saturday night (28 May) in Paris to win the Champions League for the 14th time.
“Players want to win,” Campbell told Football Insider assistant editor Dylan Childs.
“Players to want to go somewhere where there is a belief and a winning mentality.
“Klopp has brought that to Liverpool and Real Madrid have got that already. Players like Tchouameni will consider coming to Liverpool because they want to win.
“He’s seen players come in and there has been no let up. The issue with Real Madrid is that they can throw some money around and that might be the only stumbling block for Liverpool at times.
“As for playing at a club and under a manager, players will want to go to Liverpool.”

Tchouameni played 50 times across all competitions for Monaco this season as they finished third in Ligue 1.
He has a contract with the club until the summer of 2024.
In other news, Kieran Maguire has issued a ‘gigantic’ Liverpool claim as £400million-a-year talks are set to begin.
